Public reports & share links

Public reports, deliberate share links and when each form of sharing fits.

Public reports

A public report is reachable via a direct URL and can therefore be shared without a login. It suits situations in which you deliberately want to release results.

Typical use cases:

  • team coordination
  • client communication
  • example or reference projects
  • before/after comparisons with an open link

What becomes publicly visible

A public report shows the scan context in a way that lets others read and understand the report:

  • target URL or domain
  • score and metrics
  • problems and recommendations
  • screenshots or result blocks

Depending on the product area, public scans can additionally appear in public overviews or rankings.

When public reports make sense

  • when you deliberately want to share something
  • when several people without an account should see the same report
  • when you want to reference results in a presentation or a client discussion

When private scans are the better fit

  • for internal or confidential projects
  • ahead of an official relaunch
  • for client projects that have not been cleared for release

Guest scans

Guest scans are always public. This is a deliberate product decision so that guest mode stays fairly limited but still testable. If you want to scan privately, an account is required.

Share links let you share a single scan report on purpose — without the recipient needing an account and without the report becoming publicly searchable or visible in rankings.

The scan report has a Share link: row with an Activate public link button. Once activated, a unique link is generated that leads directly to the report. This link can be passed on to clients, colleagues or customers.

Share links are available from the Starter plan onward.

  • once deactivated, the link is invalid immediately

Typical use cases

  • passing a report to a client without inviting them
  • a before/after comparison as a link in a presentation
